McSwain met Jerry at the 13-13 club in Charlotte, North Carolina on the Dirt tour. Jerry had cut his hand on a gatorade bottle and was absent for a few hours before the show. Stitches and all, the show went on. Afterwards, jerry came up with the idea for his guitar: He wanted a woman, vines, a hand in the middle and... let's just say a 'hand grasping male genitalia' carved into the guitar. As his third ever guitar, McSwain didn't really proportion this 'part' correctly - With the centre piece being a less than impressive size, he decided to turn it into a snake to protect the pride of all involved - and create his all time favorite guitar story in the process!
